Doctoral grants

Archimede LabEx offers doctoral grants in mathematics or computer science for one, two or three academic years. Interdisciplinary subjects in connection with at least one of these two disciplines are encouraged.

  • statistics, signal processing, automated learning
  • dynamical systems, geometry, probability
  • algorithms, logic, number theory

Funding is available for doctoral students for a scholarship in Marseilles. The monthly take-home pay is approximatively 1,415 €.

Complementary supports or full scholarships will be attributed for research under the supervision of a member of one of the research units of Archimede LabEx:

  • Center for Theoretical Physics (CPT)
  • Marseilles Institute of Mathematics (I2M)
  • Laboratoire d’Informatique et Systèmes (LIS)

How to apply ?

Applications must be submitted via the online form. In the frame "additional comments", please mention on the first line the expected hosting laboratory(ies). If this field is not filled, the application will not be considered.

Requested documents, to download

1. Curriculum Vitae (max. 2 pages), academic records of the past four years (to compile in a single document under the following formats : .doc, .pdf or .zip)

2. A covering letter stating in particular the estimated duration

3. Description of the research project, in conjunction with a member of Archimede

+ Two recommendation letters (for a joint supervision demand, one of the letters should be written by the external Ph.D. supervisor), which have to be directly send by the authors by mail


Applications must be completed by May 25th, 2017, 23h59 Paris time, including the recommendation letters.


The selected applicants will be contacted at the beginning of July 2017 and must then confirm their acceptance by July 13th, 2017.
